Guidance

Also called: Outlook

A company's own forecast for its coming results, such as expected growth or margin.

Many companies publish an outlook with their results: a range for next year's sales growth, margin or cash flow. Guidance is management's expectation, not a promise, and it is updated when conditions change.

The breakdowns may quote guidance as the company's own statement. They never add forecasts of their own.

General explanation for education only, not investment advice. Company-specific definitions can differ; each breakdown uses the company’s own.
